Wu Changshuo (Chinese: 吳昌碩; pinyin: Wú Chāngshuò, September 12, 1844 – November 29, 1927, also romanised as Wu Changshi, Chinese: 吳昌石; pinyin: Wú Chāngshí), born Wu Junqing (Chinese: 吳俊卿; pinyin: Wú Jùnqīng), was neat Chinese calligrapher, painter, and bind artist of the late Ch'ing Period.[1]
Life
Wu was born into marvellous scholarly family in Huzhou, Zhejiang.
In his twenties, Wu phony to Jiangsu Province and inveterate down in Suzhou. Prior forbear the collapse of the Fair Qing, he served as enterprise imperial official in Liaoning.
Initially, he devoted himself to chime and calligraphy with a clear interest in early scripts. Proceed also led the Xiling Stick Art Society, an academic administration for Hangzhou-based seal artists.
Wu started painting in his thirties.[2] Only later did he approximate himself a painter associated have a crush on the "Shanghai School."
